Casuarina Meru Sdn. Bhd. & Tnb Drive Perak’s Green Future With EV Chargers

Casuarina Meru Sdn. Bhd. (CMSB), one of the key subsidiaries under Perak Corporation Berhad (PCB), formalised a leasing agreement with Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) for the installation of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at Hotel Casuarina@Meru, advancing Perak’s Sejahtera 2030 agenda and strengthening the state’s low-carbon mobility network.

The signing ceremony, held on 2 May 2025 at the Casuarina Convention Centre, was officiated by YAB Dato’ Seri Saarani bin Mohamad, Menteri Besar of Perak, and attended by YB Teh Kok Lim, Chairman of the Science, Environment and Green Technology Committee; Datuk Ir. Megat Jalaluddin Megat Hassan, President/CEO of Tenaga Nasional Berhad; En. Rosmin Mohamed, Group CEO of Perak Corporation Berhad; Puan Sabrina Ahmad Tah, General Manager of Casuarina Meru Sdn. Bhd.; as well as senior representatives from Kumpulan Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Perak.

Under the agreement, Tenaga Nasional Berhad installed one 120 kW DC fast charger with a dual CCS2 nozzle and two 22 kW AC chargers, supported by dedicated EV bays, 24-hour access, and mobile payment integration for user convenience. The EV charging facilities are expected to begin operations in mid-December 2025.

This initiative reflects Hotel Casuarina@Meru’s commitment to sustainable tourism and demonstrates how public-private collaboration can drive Perak towards a greener, more resilient future, setting a benchmark for environmentally responsible hospitality in the state.
