Currently, PERAK CORP owns and operates Lumut Maritime Terminal ("Lumut Port”) which development was completed in 1995. It provides an integrated port services, which is inclusive of tuggage, pilotage, berthing, stevedorage, cargo handling, storage and ancillary services. Since then, Lumut Port has improved its facilities and able to berth two barges at any one time. A new barge berth No. 2 has been completed in November 2016 and was officiated in December 2016. Lumut Port has also been certified with ISO 45001 on 6 November 2020.
The Group has also successfully developed Lumut Port Industrial Park. With this encouraging performance, Lumut Port is on an expansion pursuit to increase its land area from the current 1,000 acres. This will indirectly increase the capacity of cargo handling. A higher level of automation in port management and services is being realised with enhanced commitment to provide efficient and effective services to its current and future customers.
The group continues to provide the operation and maintenance services to the Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB)-owned Lekir Bulk Terminal which is located near Lumut Port. Lekir Bulk Terminal is a deep-water bulk jetty that serves as the sea gateway for delivery of coal to Janamanjung plant which in turn contributes to 18% of the nation’s power capacity.
